Learn the basics of XC skiing during this 2 hour long clinic. This clinic is designed for beginners but can be benifical if you are looking to improve your techniques. Knowing the basics behind XC skiing can make your skiing experience enjoyable! 1 hour after lessons will be allow for skiing the preserves trails on your own! Cost is $15 nonmembers and $10 for members. Prepayment and registration is required by Jan 10.

Woodcarving Workshop

 

April 14th & April 21st

This 2 day workshop will be guided by artist Lee Belanger. Lee will guide you through the techniques to create a whimsical house from cottonwood bark. Workshop includes 2 days of instruction, lunch, and cottonwood bark. Expert carvers can purchase an additional piece of cottonwood bark to make a larger carving for extra $15. Please bring along any carving equipment you may have. Suggested supplies: carving glove for safety (Woodcraft Store Approx $20), thin bladed detail knife and wider bladed bench knife (Woodcraft Store $19 each), #3 & #5 palm gouge (optional). Some tools will be available for sharing. Cost for 2 day workshop: $60 nonmembers, $50 members

Rain Barrel Workshop

April 18th 2012- 6-8pm

Master Gardener Rod Sternhagen will provide hands-on instruction for you to create your own rain barrel. A rain barrel is a large, 55 gallon drum that catches rain for future use in your garden or flower beds. These barrels are constructed with a mosquito proof and child-safety cover that allows water to pass through. Register early, these workshops fill up fast!
