Spring and Summer Programs

Excitement is in the air this Spring at Bubolz Nature Preserve! Join us for your favorite programs or try one of our new adventures like Firefly Exploration! Our Spring and Summer programs are perfect for kiddos and adults like!

Summer Yoga Series

Join us for a beautiful morning or evening outdoor yoga session with yoga instructor Stephanie Matulle, RYT CAS AHC from Arise Balanced Wellness. Each outdoor yoga session will be one hour with indoor locations in case of rain. Afterwards feel free to explore our 8 miles of trails.

August 11th from 9-10 am

Cost: $12 a class

Preregistration is required. Space is limited.

Geocaching Adventure

Saturday, May 4, 2019 – 12:30pm – 2:30pm

Go on a high-tech treasure hunt through the preserve. Learn what GPS means, why it is important, what equipment is needed, and how GPS is used in the real world. Also included is the popular game of geocaching! Families will head out on our course in search of hidden caches. This is a great family introduction into the world of geocaching.

Cost: Member – $3/person or $10/family, Nonmember – $5/person or $15/family.

Registration: Preregistration and prepayment required as space is limited.

 

Let’s Go Frogging!

Friday, May 31, 2019 – 6:30-8:30 pm

Join us at the preserve for an evening frog hike as we discover the frogs that live at the preserve. Learn about the frogs and toads found here and then go on a hike and search for them. Bring water boots if you have them! Great family event!

Cost: Members – $3/person or $10/family, Nonmembers – $5/person or $15/family.

Registration: Preregistration is required. Space is limited.

 

Wild Edibles and Outdoor Cooking

Saturday, June 1, 2019 – 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Start out the morning with a wild edible presentation and hike with a naturalist, collecting edibles along the way. Then spend the rest of the day learning about different campfires and outdoor cooking techniques. This program provides a full meal including the edibles collected. Please bring a water bottle.

Cost: $30 per person.

Registration: Pre-Registration is required.  Space is limited to 30 people.

Firefly Exploration

Friday, June 28, 2019 – 8:00 – 9:30 pm

Explore the preserve during the evening hours! We will learn about the fascinating little bugs that light up our summer nights. Then we’ll go on a night hike throughout the preserve searching for fireflies and other creatures that are active at night.

Cost: Members – $3/person or $10/family, Nonmembers – $5/person or $15/family.

Basic Archery for Ages 10-14

August 7, 2019 – 9-11:30 a.m. 

Looking for something new and different to do this summer? Sign up for one of three sessions and learn archery at Bubolz! This program includes basic skills, techniques, and safety led by a long term naturalist and volunteer. For ages 10-14.

Cost: $25 per Member, $30 per Nonmember.
