February 6-Frosty Winter Fun For Girls Scouts Clinic 9-11am*
Come play in the snow! Learn how to snowshoe, create snow sculptures, make a snowflake, and discover how animals stay warm during the winter.
($5/scout or sibling)
February 19-Moonlight Ski 6-9pm
Capture the beauty of the preserve in the dark! Cross-Country Ski and Snowshoe trails will be illuminated. Call the Preserve for more details. (if no snow, hike will take place)

March 6- Adopt-a-Bucket 11am-3pm
Join us for the first tapping of teh season! We will kick off the maple syrup season with the 17th Annual Adopt- A- Bucket. Families, Scout troops, youth groups and individuals are welcome to decorate a bucket with their favorite design to be hung in the Preserve's sugarbush. Decorators will have their picture taken with their bucket before heading to the sugarbush to meet the sapmeister, assist in tapping a maple tree and hang your bucket to catch sap. Following the tour, enjoy ice cream with fresh maple syrup as a topping! All this, plus an 8oz jar of maple syrup to take along,

“Little Green Frog”
Wednesday, March 17, 2010 11:00AM and 1:00PM– at The Building for Kids
Some frogs don’t have to paint themselves green for St. Patrick’s Day!
Listen to the story of the Little Green Frog, sing a frog song with a naturalist from the Bubolz Nature Preserve. Make a sparkly green frog to take home.
For children ages 2-12. No reservation required. Included with admission at the Building For Kids –

March 20-Maple Syrup Saturday and Breakfast*
Join us and celebrate the coming of Spring! Tour our sugarbush and visit the brand new sugar shack to see how sap is made into syrup. After the tour, enjoy a delicious treat of our own maple syrup on ice cream. Come anytime between 10 am and 3pm. Members are admitted FREE for this event! Cost $10/family, $3 adult, $2/ seniors and students. Pancake Breakfast will be served at the Girl Scout Service Center from 9:30-11:00 am. Cost for breakfast and tour: $5/ Adults, $4/ Children ages 4-12 and Seniors (55+). Reservations Required for Breakfast.

Saturday, April 3, 2010 12:PM – at The Building for Kids
It’s spring and that means it’s almost time for frogs to be calling and hopping in a pond near you. Hop on in anytime between12:-00 and 3:00 to learn how to speak frog! Find out how frogs grow and where they live. Give us your best frog call and see how far you can jump in a frog hopping contest. Join Cindy Mueller, Bubolz Preserve Executive Director to make a special froggie craft to take home.
For children ages 2-12. No reservation required. Included with admission.
“Frogging After Dark” at Bubolz Nature Preserve
Friday, May 21, 2010 8:00 – 9:30pm
Meet at the Nature center then take a short hike to a nearby pond in search of frog species. Listen to hundreds of frogs calling. A naturalist will play a tape of frog calls before the walk to help identify them. Pond nets and homemade scoopers will be available to share. All critters will be released back into the pond after the program.
Bring a flashlight covered on top with a piece of red fabric and secured with a rubber band. Wear sturdy water-proof shoes and dress for the weather. Mosquito repellent may be needed bud DO NOT put any on your hands as it is harmful to frogs. Please note that the Preserve is closed after dark, so only registered participants will be allowed.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
