December 7 – Kids Adventure Series – Natural Crafts
9:00 to 11:00 am
Spend time with your family using natural materials from the preserve and a little imagination to create some holiday crafts. Enjoy hot cocoa and get creative!


December 26 & 27 – Winter Camp
9:00 am to 3:00 pm
Join us for Winter Break Camp 2019. Snow or no snow many adventures and lots of fun are sure to be had. Activities could include cross country skiing, snowshoeing, GPS, animal tracks, winter survival, games, crafts, and many more. This camp is designed for ages 8 to 12. Come on out and spend winter break exploring the preserve!


January 3 – Candlelight Ski & Snowshoe
5:00-8:00 pm
Enjoy the preserve’s 1 mile snowshoe or 1.5 mile ski trail illuminated by candles and moonlight. No pre-registration needed. View more information and prices.


January 4 – Kids Adventure Series – Skins, Bones, and Unknowns
9:00-11:00 am | $8 per child
Kids will become wildlife biologists as they investigate the animals that can be found at the preserve. By looking at animal pelts, skulls, tracks, and scat, students will discover clues that can help identify common Wisconsin animals while on a hike through the preserve.


January 4 & 11 – Dog Sledding
10:00 – 11:30 am & 12:30 – 2:00 pm

Join Jim Feyen and his dogs as he shares the history of dog sledding, what is needed to run the dogs, and then go for a ride around the prairie. Warm up after with chili and hot chocolate. Children under 8 must ride with an adult.


January 17 – Glow in the Snow – Ski & Snowshoe Event
5:00-8:00 pm

Get ready to light up the night sky at this unique family cross country ski and snowshoe event. Bubolz Nature Preserve will be glowing with excitement as participants take to the neon lights of the trails for a 1 mile snowshoe hike or 1.5 mile cross country ski adventure. All participants will glow from head to toe after receiving a packet of wearable glow items and become part of the Glow in the Snow experience!


January 18 – Ski Clinic
8:30-10:30 am

Join a naturalist for a fun, family friendly cross-country ski lesson. Learn the basics: putting on equipment, falling down and getting up, ski techniques, and stopping.

February 1 – Kids Adventure Series – Cross Country Skiing
9:00-11:00 am | $10 per child

Kids will receive instruction on basic cross country skiing techniques. They will then have the opportunity to practice on our practice field and then groomed ski trails. Ski rentals are included for the kids in this program.


February 8 – Ski Clinic

February 21 – Brew Ski
5:00-8:00 pm
The 2nd Annual Brew Ski at Bubolz brings together snow, craft beer, wine, cocktails and entertainment!

Tour Bubolz Nature Preserve’s beautiful wedding ceremony and reception spaces while meeting Wisconsin’s elite wedding vendors at the 2020 Wedding Show at The Lodge!
